After being introduced to Shojin Ryori during a temple stay in Japan, I was addicted to this delicious cuisine. I looked for it EVERYWHERE before I found Enso Kitchen in Singapore that serves traditional Japanese Shojin Ryori, with a chef trained in a temple by Japanese monks. Made with fresh seasonal ingredients, the menu is a myriad of interesting flavours. From the exquisitely prepared food to the friendly service, Enso Kitchen provides unique dining well worth experiencing!

Don't be surprised when your food arrives at the table like works of art, as Enso Kitchen spared no effort in giving the food its perfect preparation and display. Without a doubt, it's a delicacy and more than that, Enso Kitchen added the ingredients of Life; pure devotion and generous amount of love. And the chef is definitely a delight on the eyes. A treat for all the senses.

Great Stuff! I think this is the first of its kind in Singapore - vegetarian Japanese cuisine. Going through the meal is like embarking on a sensory journey. The presentation and the varied tastes in the different items are excellent!  I like it that I can experience different taste in one item, eg sweet yet with "soury undertones" in the dessert. Plus the whole "Zen-ness" behind the cooking intrigued me. Best of all, the different menus specially catered according to my different guests' needs mean that I could host different dinner gatherings without trying the same thing over again! Definitely a MUST TRY!!

In the past, I used to try many different Japanese restaurants in Singapore , but most of them disappointed me because local chefs don't seem to know how to take the best essence out of Japanese ingredients, especially of seasonal vegetables. I felt natural flavors and textures that those vegetables have are lost. But when I tried Enso Kitchen, not only was I delighted at their presentations but also at delicacies of their dishes. As I was trying out different dishes beautifully presented on a tray, it reminded me of my mother's home cooking! I am so happy to be able to have found a place where real Japanese dishes are served at at-home atmosphere.
